American Woman Grandmaster (1977) born in Russia who during the 1988 Olympiad in Salonika, Greece, she eloped with the captain of the American team, John Donaldson to settled in Seattle.
Soviet Woman Champion in 1978 and 1986, US Woman Champion in 1990, 1993 and 1994. She lost the women world-title match to Maya Chiburdanidze in 1986.
