Hecht Hans-Joachim (29.01.1939)
German Grandmaster (1973) and Correspondence International Master (1980). Coach, journalist. He was working for many years with Robert Hubner. German Champion in 1970 and 1973.
He scored a long run of successes in the early 1970s. After promising results at Bussum 1969 and Raach 1969 (Zonal), he tied for first with Alexander Matanovic and Mato Damjanovic at Bad Pyrmont 1970; he succeeded also at Olot 1971, Malaga and Montilla-Moriles in 1972, and jointly with Boris Spassky and Ulf Andersson at Dortmund 1973.
A participant to the Olympiads from 1962 till 1982. A member of the national team which won the World Senior Team Championship in 2004.
